Begin Where You Are
Welcome, I’m Sarayu! I’m a Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker offering in-person therapy in San Diego and online therapy throughout California for adults, couples, and families.
First and foremost, I want you to feel comfortable being yourself here. You don’t need to have the perfect words, know exactly what’s wrong, or have it all figured out before coming to therapy. We can start with what life feels like for you right now and get curious together.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in the belief that who you are and how you’ve learned to navigate the world make sense in the context of your experiences. I’m interested in the whole picture: your mind and body, your relationships, your family, your culture, your identity, and the experiences that have shaped how you see yourself and the world around you.
As a first-generation South Asian therapist, I also understand that family, culture, independence, responsibility, and belonging can coexist in complicated ways. Sometimes, figuring out what you want for yourself means navigating the expectations you’ve inherited alongside the life you’re trying to build. We can explore what it looks like to set boundaries, honor your own needs, and create space for yourself without feeling like you have to disconnect from the people, relationships, or traditions that matter to you.
There’s room here for all of that complexity. You don’t have to choose between honoring where you come from and exploring who you want to become.
I’ll meet you where you are, without assuming that’s where you have to stay.
